COURSE CONTENT

This course offers three options to attain a Certificate of Competency: Clinical, Remote and In-House Supervision.

This is a unique experience to work alongside a phlebotomist in a GP surgery, taking bloods from real patients, under supervision. This is also an invaluable opportunity to see what a day in the life of an experienced phlebotomist is really like.

By the end of the day, you will have completed a minimum of 10 blood draws (normally 12-15), and receive your Certificate of Competence.

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

Anyone who has completed the CPD Venepuncture Practices & Techniques course, but is now looking for opportunities to get real work experience and show proof of competence on their CV.

EQUIPMENT

You will be working out of a fully equipped phlebotomy clinic in a busy GP surgery.

TIMINGS

This is a 1/2 day course.

You will be working during a normal phlebotomy clinic, which is usually 09:30 – 12:30 or 13:00 – 16:00.

This course is available by arrangement. Contact us and we will organise a special clinic just for you, normally on a Sunday.

GROUP SIZES

This is a 1:1 experience. Which is why places are limited and there is a waiting list.

ACCREDITATION

All of our courses are provided by our sister company iN phlebotomy training, and are accredited by the CPD certification service, which means they are internationally recognised as part of your portfolio of training.

This course counts as 5 CPD hours.

REFRESHMENT

Refreshments are available throughout the day, but please bring your own lunch. Kettle and microwave facilities are available.

LOCATION

Work experience in the clinic is exclusively delivered in Bakersfield Medical Centre in Nottingham.
